Family Plan Prize Bingo At Memorial Event
A family is planning to hold prize bingo games and other activities at a fundraising event in memory of their daughter.Denise Molloy and her husband Martin are working to stage an event in memory of Lauren Dixon, who passed away recently after having a heart transplant operation, the Blackpool Gazette reported. The 22-year-old had been planning to hold an event on July 31st 2011 to mark the first anniversary of receiving her new organ, a date which her step-dad said was like a first birthday to her as it gave her a new lease of life.Instead, they are planning to go ahead with her ideas and stage a fun day which will be in her memory, as well as raising funds for the New Start Charity, which is based in the Wythenshawe Hospital, where she was treated. To get as many people to attend as possible, the fun day will feature events like a raffle and bingo, with great prizes on offer like a day pass to Ribby Hall Village, Blackpool Pleasure Beach passes and meals out.”Everybody has been so kind – we have had so much support from people locally. And businesses have been brilliant, donating great prizes, its very generous,” Mr Molloy added.Playing bingo in order to raise money is also currently the plan of a church in Cambridgeshire, which is hoping to carry out refurbishment works.
